Me Time: Home Office Set-up

Me Time: Home Office Set-up

So, you work your behind off to create a nice office for your kids who are forced to stay home to do college remotely.  Then, you realize their office is nicer than your home office!  Time to put those “design on a dime” skills to use recreating your office space.  After all, with the whole family working and studying from home now, your office has become your only refuge from the sights and sounds of your household like dirty dishes, online lectures, and other peoples’ zoom meetings.

The Challenge:

A neglected office space that had become the dumping ground from the kids’ remodeled office space.

The Result:

A true sanctuary intended for both productivity and relaxation.

Tips:

Repurpose furniture from other rooms of your home

- use dining table as a desk

- cover an old chair with a new slip cover

- use outdoor furniture for indoors

- paint furniture to give it a fresh look

Paint the walls yourself

Change the look of a lamp by changing the shade

Final Touch:

A “Do Not Disturb” sign affixed to the door…

"Escape to the Chateau"
